Your place is confirmed once payment has been received in full, or a payment plan has been agreed in writing. We reserve the right to decline registrations at our discretion.
2.2 Payment plans
Where a payment plan is offered, you are committing to the full programme fee. Failure to complete payments does not release you from the remaining balance.
2.3 Pricing
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless stated otherwise. Pricing is subject to change. The price confirmed at the time of your registration will apply to your booking.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
3.1 Cancellations by you
We understand that life changes. The following policy applies:
- More than 60 days before the programme start date: full refund, less a $100 administration fee
- 30 to 60 days before the programme start date: 50% refund

3.2 Cancellations by HineHau
In the event that HineHau cancels or significantly alters a programme, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date. HineHau is not liable for any additional costs you may incur (such as travel or accommodation).
4. Health, Safety, and Participation
4.1 Health disclosure
Breathwork can have powerful effects on the body and nervous system. Before participating in any HineHau breathwork programme, you are required to complete an intake form disclosing any relevant physical or mental health conditions.
Conditions that may affect your safe participation include, but are not limited to:
- Cardiovascular conditions
- Epilepsy or seizure history
- Current pregnancy
- Recent surgery
- Severe mental health conditions including psychosis or active suicidality
- Detoxification from alcohol or substances
HineHau reserves the right to decline participation or modify a participant's experience based on health information provided. This decision is made with care and in the interest of your wellbeing.
4.2 Your responsibility
You are responsible for being honest on your intake form and for informing us of any changes to your health status before the programme begins. HineHau facilitators are trained and experienced, but they are not medical professionals. Breathwork does not replace medical or psychological treatment.
4.3 Safe space
HineHau spaces are held with deep respect for the wairua and wellbeing of all who attend. All participants are expected to engage with manaakitanga — for themselves, for others, and for the kaupapa. Behaviour that undermines the safety or dignity of others will not be tolerated and may result in removal without refund.
5. Intellectual Property
All content created and shared within HineHau programmes — including teachings, frameworks, facilitation approaches, recordings, and written materials — belongs to HineHau and Shannon Brown.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, teach from, or commercialise HineHau content without written permission. This applies to programme materials, recordings of sessions, and any proprietary methodology.
You are welcome to share your own personal experience and transformation. You are not permitted to share or replicate the frameworks and teachings as your own.
6. Photography, Video, and Recording
Photography, video recording, and audio recording within retreat and wānanga spaces is not permitted without prior written consent from Shannon Brown. This protects the privacy and tapu of all participants.
HineHau may photograph or record events for promotional and educational purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please advise us at registration or in person at the event.
7. Practitioner Training — Specific Terms
7.1 IPHM Accreditation
The HineHau Level One and Two Practitioners Training is accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM). Accreditation is subject to completion of all required hours, assessments, and supervised practice.
7.2 Completion requirements
To receive your certification, you must:
- Complete 110 hours in Level 1 certification
- Complete an additional 90 hours at Level 2 certification
HineHau reserves the right to withhold certification where completion requirements are not met or where conduct is inconsistent with the values of the kaupapa.
7.3 Use of the HineHau name
Completing the HineHau training does not grant you the right to operate under the HineHau name or brand. Graduates are trained HineHau-informed facilitators. Use of the HineHau name or logo in your practice requires written approval from Shannon Brown.
8. Online Programmes and Membership
For online content and programmes:
- Access is granted to the registered individual only and may not be shared
- Recordings and content are for personal use only
- HineHau reserves the right to update, adjust, or remove content from online programmes at any time
- Access may be suspended for conduct inconsistent with the values of HineHau
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, HineHau and Shannon Brown are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage that arises in connection with participation in HineHau programmes, except where caused by our negligence.
You participate in breathwork and embodiment practices at your own informed risk. We hold this work with care, and we ask that you approach it with equal responsibility for your own wellbeing.
10. Privacy
The collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at www.hinehau.co.nz. By registering, you consent to your information being handled in accordance with that policy.
