HineHau — Free Online Activation

Enter into the world of HineHau.

Learn about breathwork from a Te Ao Māori perspective and experience a full BreathWav ceremony.

What becomes possible when we remember the medicine of our own breath?

Te hā is life force. It is connection. It is the breath that moves through us, connects us, and reminds us that we are alive.

For generations, our people have carried deep knowledge of our relationship to te hā, to wairua, to mauri, to tinana and to the living world around us.

HineHau is an invitation to remember that relationship.

Join Shannon Rose, founder of HineHau, for a free two-day online activation into Te Hā — exploring the breath as rongoā and as a pathway towards deeper oranga, connection and possibility.

Across two experiences, we will move from understanding into embodiment.

Over online trainings we will move through together:

✔  VIDEO ONE Understanding the Medicine of the Breath 90 minutes

  • Shannon will share the kaupapa behind HineHau and what breathwork looks like when it is held within a Māori worldview.
  • Together, we will explore some of the pūrākau and Māori ways of understanding wellbeing that underpin HineHau.
  • We will consider our relationship with te hā and what becomes possible when we understand breath as more than a physiological function — but as a pathway into connection, awareness, mauri and oranga.
  • This is an opportunity to learn about the why behind HineHau and to understand the foundations of the modality.

✔ VIDEO TWO Experiencing HineHau BreathWav Journey 2 hours

  • You will be guided through an embodied HineHau BreathWav journey, entering a ceremonial space where we can listen more deeply to what lives within us

  • Together, we will work with te hā to move through some of the debris that can sit beneath the surface — the patterns, stories, emotions and energies that may have become lodged within the subconscious.
  • And as we create space, we make room for the dreams that have been dormant and  the parts of ourselves that have been waiting to be remembered. For the visions our tīpuna carried for us.

THIS IS HINEHAU

HineHau is an Aotearoa-based movement founded by Shannon Rose, bringing Māori ways of understanding wellbeing into the modality of breath.

At its heart is a belief that te hā holds pathways to healing, connection and activation.

HineHau is both an art form and an embodied practice — one that draws on Māori knowledge, pūrākau and ways of understanding our relationship to ourselves, one another and the world around us.

Across Aotearoa, over 50 trained HineHau practitioners are now carrying this art form into their own communities.

This activation is an opportunity to experience the kaupapa, learn about the foundations of HineHau, and feel what becomes possible when we consciously reconnect with te hā
