Our transformative program is designed as a full leadership journey for wāhine ready to step into their power and mastery. The journey unfolds in two interconnected experiences: an in-person training immersion and a 6-month online certification.
1.HineHau Breathwork Immersion 7-Day In-Person Training
An immersive seven-day training to receive the full transmission of HineHau. This is where the teachings land in the body, laying the foundation for everything you will carry into the four-month online certification.

Integrate your learnings and become a globally accredited BreathWav™ practitioner through our supported online programme, designed to hold you through real practice and steady progression.
- Recorded library of trainings, breath practices and journeys to move through at your own pace
- 1 x 90-minute monthly support call with your focus group and a HineHau Trainer
- 1 x 90-minute monthly support call with the full cohort and a HineHau Trainer
- 2 x 60-minute 1:1 supervision sessions across the four months with a HineHau Trainer to support your case studies
- 4 case studies to complete as part of your certification pathway
- Use a logbook to record your practice hours towards your 200-hour certification
3. Kaupapa Studio 3-Month Business Accelerator
A three-month container with Shannon to develop your own kaupapa, integrating your new and existing pūkenga. Drawing on her background in business, branding and marketing, Shannon offers both personal coaching and practical training to support you in building something grounded and sustainable.
By the end of the three months, you will have built out your own unique business plan, developed through the modules and shaped through your coaching sessions with Shannon.

Step into the HineHau Practitioner Training, a high-level, six-month mentorship and training program designed to guide you to become a licensed and certified HineHau Breathwork Practitioner.
Become a Kaitiaki of the Breath, a guide and leader, holding space and leading others with depth, spiritual integrity and skill.
Learn how to guide private and group Breathwork Journeys using the HineHau BreathWav™ method, a trauma-informed, spiritually anchored modality steeped in indigenous wisdom and safe practice.

The Modules
Module 1: Vision & Whakapapa of Your Business Craft your two-year plan, anchor your vision and write the pūrākau of your business. You will leave this module with a clear sense of where you are going and why.
Module 2: Brand Crafting Understand your brand essence, develop your brand identity and refine your message. We go beyond the visual surface to explore the unique frequency of your kaupapa, including your voice, tone, values and how your brand will evolve as you do.
Module 3: Understanding Your Position in the Market Find your most influential position, identify your audience, and work through competitor analysis and a SWOT framework to understand where you stand and where your greatest opportunity lies.
Module 4: Offering Build Out & Financial Planning Build out your offerings and pricing structure, plan for income and expenses, and develop a grounded approach to the financial foundations of your business.
Module 5: The Backbone of Your Business Website build out, online platforms, legal considerations, client agreements, insurance and intellectual property. Everything that holds your business together behind the scenes.

About Shannon: Founder of HineHau | Lead Trainer | Wāhine Māori Practitioner
I te taha o tōna pāpā, nō Ingarangi, nō Īrangi, nō Kotirana.

Shannon Rose is the founder and lead facilitator of Hine Hau (formerly Elevare), a breath training institute grounded in Te Ao Māori, wairuatanga, and trauma-informed practice. She has been a breathwork practitioner since 2017 and is recognised as part of the early wave of facilitators sharing this transformative modality in Aotearoa.
Shannon walks the path of a wāhine Māori practitioner, creative, and leader working at the intersection of hauora, business, and spirituality. Her work is deeply informed by her lineage, lived experience, and a commitment to collective healing.
With a background in marketing and entrepreneurship, Shannon felt there was more and was guided by her wairua and tūpuna into the world of facilitation.
Since then, she has held space for hundreds of wāhine and whānau across Aotearoa and beyond. Through HineHau (formerly Elevare), they have trained over 50 practitioners their unique methodology, proudly interweaving the threads of Māoritanga into this living, breathing tapestry.

“Still one of my most cherished moments as a Breathwork Practitioner was having my Nana at my very first breath journey in Aotearoa. She cried tears she had never allowed herself to cry, and forgave herself for the life she had lived. That moment changed me forever. It reminded me why we do this work: for ourselves, yes, but also for our grandmothers and our mokopuna, seven generations forward, seven generations back."

Pare Wainui HineHau Breath Practitioner | Storyteller | Ceremonialist
Pare Wainui, ō Ngāti Tūwharetoa ki Tongariro, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Whātua ki Orākei, me Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga.
Raised in a village and shaped by the forests and waters of Tūwharetoa, Pare developed a deep connection to Papatūānuku from a very young age. She is devoted to the revival of the Feminine Mysteries i Te Ao Māori.
Her work is directed ā-wairua by a deep devotion to kaitiakitanga and upholding te mana me te tapu o te wāhine, supporting wāhine to remember and return home to themselves, their wāhinetanga, and their truth through a reconnection with breath, body, wairua and taiao.

Rebecca Jennings HineHau Breath Practitioner | Space Holder
Born in Aotearoa and raised in Waitākere, Rebecca carries roots from Scotland, Ireland and Wales through her father's line, and Samoan lineage through her mother's.
Rebecca came to breathwork through her own lived experience and a growing relationship with body and wairua. Her work is guided by presence, integrity and care, offering space for people to slow down and meet themselves honestly.
Within HineHau, Rebecca brings steadiness and embodied understanding, creating spaces where wāhine can feel safe as they deepen their relationship with breath and self.
Tara Goddard HineHau Breath Facilitator | Sacred Ceremonialist
From Wainuiomata, Wellington, Tara is the founder of Esoteric Medicine Pathways and a teacher of spirit-led guidance informed through lived embodied experience.
Tara works with breath, sound, Quantum Healing Hypnosis and plant medicine to guide deep self-initiated healing, remembrance and embodiment. She holds spaces that are both grounded and multidimensional, gently guiding people back to the truth that they have always been the healer and the medicine they seek is already within them.
Your Six-Month Journey
The HineHau Practitioner Training is designed to give you a full, supported pathway to becoming a confident, accredited BreathWav™ practitioner. Across six months, you’ll move through the in-person retreat, online learning, mentorship, practice, and supervision, all structured to guide your growth, skill development, and integration of teachings.
During this time, you will:
- Complete the seven-day retreat, where you’ll be placed into one of two small pod groups. These pods become your close-knit community throughout the six months, holding space for connection, support, and shared learning. Each pod is guided by two dedicated trainers, who mentor you from retreat to graduation.
- Engage in online learning through our recorded library of trainings, breath practices, and journeys, allowing you to move through the material at your own pace.
- Attend monthly support calls:
- One pod-level call (90 minutes) with your focus group and a HineHau Trainer for personalised guidance
- One full-cohort call (90 minutes) with all participants and a HineHau Trainer for shared learning, reflection, and community connection
- Track your practice using your logbook, building towards your 200-hour practitioner certification
Case Study Requirements and Supervision
As part of your certification, you will:
- Complete four case studies (2x 1:1 and 2x Group) to practice facilitating sessions in real-life settings
- Participate in two 60-minute 1:1 supervision sessions with a HineHau Trainer, supporting your case studies, providing feedback, and helping you integrate your learnings into confident practice

- Pod-level call for deeper integration and preparation for final case studies

Our Venue Partner for 2026
Lake Okataina Lodge ~ Ngāti Tarāwhai
Lake Okataina Lodge is just 30 minutes outside of Rotorua central and is nestled in the heart of the forest and overlooking Lake Ōkataina.
This location will be home to our HineHau Level One & Two Retreat and Training.
Owned by Ngāti Tarāwhai, we invite you to stay onsite at Lake Okataina Lodge for the full immersion experience.
While accommodation is not included in your retreat cost, we have reserved a small number of Wilderness Family and Wilderness Studio units onsite exclusively for HineHau participants.
Each unit includes a kitchen, allowing you to prepare your own breakfasts during the retreat.
Price for 6 Nights:
- Wilderness Studio with kitchen – exclusive to you. Six nights for only $790.
- Wilderness Family Unit with kitchen – Share with three others (Two bedrooms) Six nights for only $371 per person.
- Wilderness Studio with kitchen – Share with one other. Six nights for only $395 per person.
Rooms are limited, so we encourage you to apply early to avoid missing out. Once accepted we will together allocate you a room. There are options to have you own room at an additional cost.

We hold a maximum of 14 wāhine per training. This is intentional. The depth of this work requires intimacy, care and space for every person in the room. We encourage you to apply as soon as you feel ready.
Our trainings happen twice a year, once in Raumati (Summer) and once in Kōanga (Spring).

1. Complete our application form: Due to the nature and depth of our work, all wāhine will need to complete an application form.
2. Interview: We will review your application and based on your answers you will then be invited to book a interview with Shannon to chat about your alignment with our kaupapa.
3. Offer of place: If you are offered a space, you will be sent payment details to secure your space.
